Of course, you do compromise a bit on image quality to fit such zoom capability in such a small package- but, for most regular folks, the minute differences in image quality really don't matter, and it's more about capturing the moment. Having the zoom and the portability. Your not going to find both in one camera. I suppose I would find out what is the largest camera I could carry comfortably with the biggest zoom and go for that one. I have been looking for a long time for the perfect digital camera. It is a 5 megapixel camera that take beautiful pictures. It also has a voice recorder, and video recorder with sound. I have a 2GB memory card in mine that allows me to take over 600 pictures or over an hour of video footage. It is very small *about a half inch thick* and it's a great camera!
